Son of a blacksmith from Hap, or so he thought, Bailien grew up with the rigors of hard labor and the appreciation of his fathers' sweat and sacrifices for him and his sister. Life was strenuous growing up with no mother, as she died during his birth. His father's past was always shrouded in mystery until on a fateful day, travelling to Hap to sell smithy goods, with the family, his father was attacked by a mysterious man (later revealed as an unidentified Champion of Corath). Bailien tried to help, but was ill-equiped (and only 14) to pose a formidable defense. Fortunately, a friend of his father's (a Paladin of Toran, Remiel ) was with the family and fought the foe off, but the enigma escaped. Unfortunately, not before his father was stuck with a devastating blow that would later take his life. After his death, it was revealed that Bailien's father was a fomer Champion of Toran (even a previous Shining Hand of Toran) who was banished from the order and lost his status. This was due to the fact that Bailien's father fell in love and began a family in secret from the church, for their (his sister and mothers) protection. After his banishment, his father became a target from many of his former enemies, which led to Remiel to become his "bodyguard" out of regret from his own father's incredulous life.. After taking Bailien to Ft. Llast to be raised by a clerics of Toran, Remiel left to continue to find his path in the world. Since this episode, Bailien has grown into a tall, fair skin, blonde hair, blue eyed man. He has calloused hands and scarred body standing strong from his youth in the smithy and adolescence in weapons training. Bailien has been raised to honor the Toran code of conduct and aspires to right his father's death by vanquishing evil, wherever it exists. His life in the church has been rough with those that know of his tainted lineage. With determination, he humbly begins a path that will make the world a better place, in his hopes, for everyone he encounters. And looking to the promise of one day to step out of the shadow cast over him by the few, doubting clergy of Toran. His father's sins weigh heavy on Bailien's shoulders. Truth, Honor, and Loyalty...
