C.J. Hendriks never knew his parents. When he was very young, the town of
Haven was sieged by ogres. His parents had died in the battle. He was saved from the war and brought to an orphanage in Melnon. He was 3 when he first arrived at the orphanage. He was cared for greatly there by the Sisters. When he was 4 he found out what he wished to do for the rest of his life. Be a
rogue. When he was 5 he had many friends at the orphanage. One of them was Thomas Dougland. They together played often, hiding from the Sisters who took care of them. All the other children at the orphanage loved C.J. Hendriks for his magic tricks, and his pranks which he often pulled on the sisters. Wether making a
stone skip across a lake, end at the land on the other side, and kept on bouncing, or filling a sisters Pecan Pie with Spider eggs. He had the time of his life. When he was 15 he had learned alot about making traps for the sisters, often causing
harm to them. He learned alot as well about scrolls during the time he worked on magic in the world. He was able to use varieties of scrolls because of this. Also, he was good at sneaking around the orphanage. One day he was watching from behind a tree as a sister walked into one of his traps and was tangled up in it. She dropped the basket of fruit she was carrying, bruising most of them. The sister was so startled she went to the owner of the orphanage and told of what happened with C.J's trap. After a long discussion with her, the owner berated C.J. for what he had done, and that it had, had to stop. She punished him by gathering fruit, washing the dishes and blankets, and making the beds. C.J. was fed up with this. He told his friend Thomas that he was leaving the orphanage in
search of a place where he could use his talents more. He packed up his things. A chef's knife which he used as a dagger. Some trap parts which he could later make traps out of for the appropriate occasions. His bow which he had always practiced with in the orchard on summer days, honing his skills with it. Also some food which he gathered from the orchard for his journey. He put all his things in a bag hauling it over his shoulder along with a quiver of home made arrows. That night, he sneaked out of the orphanage, bidding his friend farewell, and not to forget him. He was 15 when he left the orphanage, sneaking out of the window and travelling away, a tune trailing from his lips which he hummed. He ventured far and wide in search of the right place. At first he went North, seeking no refuge from the bitter
cold, and ogres everywhere, he ventured south again, coming along the Eastern shore of
Mistone. He was now 17 as he ventured along the coast. He loved the water, watching the fish playfully watching him. He would often catch a bug of a sort and throw into the water, watching the fish jump out of the water eating it quickly. 9 years after he left the orphanage, he came apon
Hlint. The people were friendly, there was abundant food sources. There was all the right things for him to practice his bow-making, arrow-making, trap making, and many other talents. He was now 24, and his journey was over. He still took on doing his magic acts and pranks every once in a while. Now he ventured for more friends, perhaps a family, and a nice long life until the end of his days.
