Dwarves are a stout and stocky race of people. When it comes to battle you would be hard pressed to find a more skillful or dedicated warrior than a dwarf. Many Dwarven settlements are underground, and they consequently have an affinity with all things that pertain to the earth, including mining and the fighting of underground creatures.

They are quite short, with most Dwarves being around 4 feet in height, yet due to their stockiness they can still range from 130 to 200 pounds. They take great pride in their facial hair and it is not uncommon to see dwarves with great, bushy beards that hang to their knees.

Due to their stockiness, Dwarves are able to take an extreme amount of physical and magical punishment, making them good front-line fighters. There aren't many Dwarven adventurers as they are loath to leave their settlements, but a few feel the call to adventure, and they generally become quite capable fighters.
